The Lyceum Scholars program is a Merit Study that complements our beyond-expected, beyond-classroom college preparatory curriculum by offering academically gifted students opportunities to analyze and synthesize subjects with greater depth and breadth. Through Lyceum, we encourage students with strong academic records and a history of self-motivation to achieve their full potential.
ASA students who intend to graduate with Lyceum Scholar distinction must apply for the program and receive teacher recommendation. Criteria for participation include exemplary test scores, classroom grades, and a willingness to go beyond in pursuit of knowledge. Traditionally, Lyceum Scholars place at the top of their class.
Whether the setting is a science laboratory, humanities seminar, or world languages symposium, a Scholar's progression of study offers him/her innovative opportunities to explore, discover, expound, revise, and present to their peers through a Scholar Talk.
In recognition of their academic journey, Lyceum Scholars receive a diploma that bears the Lyceum seal and a medal to distinguish them at graduation. Students earning the Lyceum Scholar distinction are prepared to meet the challenges of the most competitive colleges and universities.
